Job summary

Merck is seeking a Director of Global Employee and Executive Communications to translate enterprise initiatives into engaging internal and executive communications. You will craft messaging, support leaders with briefing materials, and drive culture change across the organization.

You will oversee crisis and issues management, advise on high-stakes engagements, and partner with Strategy, Talent and Learning to align priorities across Global Communications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of communication experience in external, corporate, executive and change communications, and employee engagement
• Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience and/or leading complex, matrixed teams
• Proven ability to counsel corporate executives and ensure messaging is consistent across the organization
• Strong storytelling and writing across speeches, emails, video scripts, editorial and social content
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; GenAI fluency in daily work

Responsibilities

• Develop culture and engagement strategies to motivate and inspire employees
• Lead internal and executive communications for senior leaders, aligning with business strategy
• Provide crisis and issues management support and counsel executives
• Measure impact of communication programs and report progress to leadership
