Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead the strategy and development of embedded software for Rosemount flowmeters. You will guide global teams, set multi-year roadmaps, and drive innovation with secure-by-design practices.

You will champion modern engineering methods, oversee requirements, testing, and documentation, and collaborate with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional groups to deliver reliable, cyber-secure measurement solutions.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science required
• Ten years of related software engineering experience, with leadership in complex product development
• Two years of leadership experience in an industrial or tech organization
• Familiarity with coding standards (MISRA) and modern requirements management tooling (Jama, DOORS, Azure DevOps)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Up to 10% travel (domestic and international)
• Legal authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and organizational leadership to develop embedded software products
• Direct domestic and global teams on software architecture and techniques
• Prepare multi-year program plans with goals and cost/schedule requirements
• Interact with customers, vendors, and cross-functional groups
• Prepare technical proposals and represent Emerson to standards bodies
• Administer policies, ensure documentation accuracy and timeliness
• Coach and develop the Rosemount Flow software team
• Champion modern engineering practices including CI/CD, SDL, and AI-assisted development
