Job summary

Vantage Specialty Chemicals, located in Deerfield, IL, seeks a Global EH&S Director to lead the company’s health, safety, and environmental strategy across manufacturing sites. You will work with the COO, drive regulatory compliance, risk management, and a proactive safety culture, including behavior-based safety programs.

The role requires significant OSHA and EPA experience in high-hazard environments, with leadership across multiple facilities and a focus on continuous improvement in safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 12+ years in EH&S within chemical manufacturing or a high-hazard process industry.
• Proven leadership across multiple manufacturing locations.
• Strong practical experience with OSHA regulations and process safety management (PSM).
• Experience implementing or significantly improving a behavior-based safety program.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a global EH&S strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Establish global EH&S policies, standards, and management systems.
• Serve as the principal EH&S advisor to the COO and senior leadership.
• Establish accountability for EH&S performance across the organization.
• Develop EH&S leading and lagging indicators and reporting.
