Job summary

Vantage Specialty Chemicals in Deerfield, IL seeks a Global EH&S Director to shape and lead our worldwide environmental, health, and safety program. You will partner with site leadership and corporate functions to raise safety performance beyond compliance and foster a proactive safety culture.

The role requires extensive experience with OSHA and EPA regulations in high-hazard settings, plus a proven track record building leadership ownership of safety, implementing PSM/RMP, and delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and EPA requirements across high-hazard manufacturing.
• Demonstrated leadership across multiple facilities with EH&S teams and budget responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive a global EH&S strategy aligned with operations and business objectives.
• Establish global EH&S policies, standards, management systems, metrics, and expectations aligned with RC14001/ISO 14001/45001.
• Serve as the principal EH&S advisor to the COO and senior leadership on safety, environmental, regulatory, and operational risks.
• Define accountability and decision rights for EH&S performance from senior leadership to frontline staff.
• Develop leading and lagging EH&S indicators and provide regular risk reporting to executives.
• Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive behavior-based safety program across locations.
• Provide leadership for OSHA regulations, PSM, and EPA RMP compliance programs.
• Drive process safety management including hazard analyses, operating procedures, and change management.
• Oversee environmental permitting, reporting, emissions management, and monitoring.
• Coordinate incident investigations and root-cause analyses with lessons learned communicated across facilities.
• Develop and maintain EH&S data systems and audit programs.
