Job summary

TikTok is seeking a Solution Engineer for Global E-commerce, Seller Business in San Jose. You will design scalable Open API-based integrations and partner with merchants, ISVs, and internal teams to accelerate onboarding and platform adoption.

You will analyze data to identify automation opportunities, tackle complex technical challenges, and guide product direction while delivering measurable improvements in performance and customer success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience building production systems or equivalent experience in technical solutions engineering.
• Proficient in one or more general-purpose languages (Python/Java/Go/C/C++).
• Strong SQL and analytical skills with data-driven problem solving.
• Ability to communicate complex tech concepts to engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience partnering across Engineering, Product, Data, and Customer-facing teams.
• Understanding of distributed systems, backend services, and integration patterns.
• Experience with large-scale API platforms, advertising tech, or enterprise SaaS.
• E-commerce experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver scalable API-based integration solutions and prototypes.
• Collaborate with merchants, ISVs, and internal teams to design scalable integration patterns.
• Analyze data to identify opportunities for automation and performance improvements.
• Work with Engineering, Product, Data, and customers to address technical challenges and influence direction.
• Serve as technical owner for complex customer integrations and guide internal teams.
• Build lightweight tools and proof-of-concepts to improve onboarding and adoption.
• Use SQL and data analysis to troubleshoot issues and inform product decisions.
