Job summary

NextGen Global Resources seeks an experienced Drive Test Engineer to lead RF data collection and analysis for 4G/5G networks across the U.S., Canada, Brazil, and the UK. You will set up drive test equipment, capture key RF metrics, and generate post-processing reports to identify coverage gaps and interference.

You will collaborate with RF optimization engineers to implement tuning changes, verify improvements, and ensure delivery of high-quality network performance.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
• 2+ years of wireless RF or drive test experience.
• Proficient with drive test tools (TEMS Discovery, Nemo, or equivalent).
• Knowledge of GSM/UMTS/LTE/5G NR and RF propagation principles.
• Strong data analysis, log scrubbing, and anomaly detection.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for field testing.
• Available for full-time across U.S., Canada, Brazil, or UK locations.

Responsibilities

• Drive test data collection across nationwide U.S., Canada, Brazil, and UK.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate drive test tools, scanners, GPS units, and test handsets.
• Measure RF parameters: RSRP, RSRQ, SINR, RSSI, throughput, and call drop rates.
• Identify coverage gaps, dead zones, interference sources, and handoff issues.
• Post-process drive test logs using RF analysis software (TEMS, Nemo, Actix, WindCatcher).
• Produce field test reports, coverage maps, sector logs, and diagnostic summaries.
• Collaborate with RF optimization engineers, network planners, and field crews.
• Verify post-tuning changes and re-test clusters.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain test assets.
