Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a security leader to guide our global investigations and incident response program as we scale internationally.

You will lead a technically deep, engineering-oriented team that manages major incidents and builds stronger response capabilities. You will shape AI-enabled investigation workflows, drive durable engineering improvements, and report findings with clear security, privacy, and operational safeguards to executives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in security operations, incident response, or related field.
• Proven ability to lead major security incidents across cloud-native environments.
• Strong technical foundation in investigations, detection, and forensics.
• Experience building scalable, repeatable incident response practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with executive audiences.
• AI-forward mindset for agentic investigation workflows with safeguards.

Responsibilities

• Lead security incidents and investigations across full lifecycle.
• Act as incident commander for major events and coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Guide root-cause analyses with engineering to drive durable fixes.
• Develop a high-performing, engineering-focused response team and playbooks.
• Create global readiness practices, on-call readiness, and postmortems.
• Translate metrics into executive dashboards and board updates.
