Job summary

e.l.f. Beauty, Inc. seeks a Director, Technical Regulatory & Ingredient Science to lead global ingredient compliance, documentation, and regulatory strategy across its multi-brand portfolio including e.l.f.

Cosmetics, e.l.f. SKIN, Well People, Naturium, and rhode skin. The role requires MSc in Chemistry and 10+ years in cosmetics regulatory or raw material compliance, with a track record managing supplier documentation, cross-functional teams, and global regulatory challenges as the business

Qualifications

• MSc in Chemistry or a closely related discipline.
• 10+ years in a technical regulatory, ingredient science, or raw material compliance role.
• Deep expertise in cosmetic and skincare ingredient chemistry; global cosmetic ingredient regulations.
• Experience with EU and Asia suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Proven track record of raw material qualification and documentation management.
• Ability to translate complex regulatory information for non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience supporting a multi-brand portfolio across color cosmetics, skincare, etc.
• Experience scaling a raw material documentation database.

Responsibilities

• Determine and maintain ingredient-level compliance globally.
• Translate evolving global regulations into actionable guidance for R&D, Innovation and Product Development.
• Lead ingredient-level Canada CEPA/Section 71 Surveys, CARB surveys, US/UK REACH compliance.
• Monitor VOC compliance and ensure documentation for regulatory submissions.
• Oversee IFRA compliance for fragranced products with certificates and documents.
• Guide EWG and Sorette certification processes; flag restricted ingredients.
• Troubleshoot documentation gaps and regulatory queries during registrations.
• Partner with contract manufacturers and suppliers to review documentation.
• Establish and enforce documentation standards and timelines.
• Drive changes to raw materials to maintain global compliance.
• Educate stakeholders on ingredient science topics and emerging regulations.
