Job summary

Abbott in Sylmar, CA is seeking an experienced EHS leader to drive global EHS performance for the division. You will manage EHS programs, coordinate with global teams, and ensure regulatory compliance across sites.

You will shape the EHS strategy, partner with regulators and corporate teams, and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders while overseeing staff across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS or related field.
• Minimum 12 years of related EHS experience.
• Extensive technical expertise in EHS and plant-level EHS.
• Managerial experience leading senior professionals.
• Division or Corporate management experience; international experience preferred.
• Proven ability to lead cross-divisional teams and build relationships with regulators and clients.

Responsibilities

• Direct accountability for EHS performance across the Division.
• Coordinate EHS for Division operations worldwide in partnership with Corporate regions.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and effective EHS program implementation.
• Develop and communicate the global EHS vision and strategy.
• Lead tool and process implementation to standardize Abbott EHS policies.
• Collaborate with regulators and industry groups to influence policy directions.
• Staff, retain, and develop regional EHS personnel to meet needs.
