Job summary

NSC Global is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to join our growing team in Chicago. The role involves handling help desk requests, troubleshooting desktop hardware and software, and providing hands-on support to end users with a focus on high-quality customer service.

The candidate should have experience with Windows and Mac desktop environments, strong communication skills, and the ability to document issues and resolutions. Immediate start is preferred for a direct hire arrangement.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic computer hardware and desktop OSs.
• Experience with desktop operating systems including Microsoft and Mac OS X.
• Extensive application support experience and strong diagnostic skills.
• Good written and verbal communication, and strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle end-user requests via phone and work orders.
• Document user details, problem nature and actions taken.
• Build rapport and gather problem details for effective resolution.
• Prioritize, escalate when needed, and track the resolution process.
• Provide hands-on fixes at the desktop level and verify resolution.
