Job summary

Mitsubishi Chemical America, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead and evolve our global Databricks data platform. You will shape architecture, governance, and cost optimization while mentoring a growing team of engineers across functions.

You will design scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, develop enterprise data models, and partner with data scientists, analysts, and IT to deliver impactful analytics solutions. This role sits at the core of our data-driven enterprise strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on experience with SQL and Python.
• 5+ years cloud platforms experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• At least 5 years Databricks development/architecture experience.
• Strong experience designing enterprise-scale data pipelines and ETL/ELT solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and enhancement of the global Databricks data platform.
• Define and evolve Databricks platform architecture including lakehouse design, data integration, governance, security, performance, and cost optimization.
• Design, build, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and semi-structured data.
• Develop modern data models, data warehouses, and data marts for enterprise analytics.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, business partners, and IT to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Improve data quality, governance, security, and platform reliability.
• Mentor junior and mid-level data engineers and promote engineering best practices.
