Xcel Energy seeks a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design, administer, secure, govern, and support the enterprise Databricks Lakehouse Platform across AWS and GCP. Lead platform operations, Unity Catalog, IAM, automation, monitoring, DR, and cost optimization.

Collaborate with data engineering, security, and business teams to ensure scalable, reliable analytics and AI/ML initiatives. The role requires 10+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Ten years of related functional experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Technology, Science, Business or related field, or 4 years of experience equivalent to the position.
• Excellent communication skills across organizational levels.
• Strong relationship management and cross-team collaboration.
• Expertise managing lifecycle of technical solutions.
• Deep knowledge of technology architecture, infrastructure, security and related principles.
• Experience with delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum) and ITIL processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support solution lifecycle technical activities with focus on user experience and performance.
• Coach and mentor less experienced team members and collaborate across units.
• Contribute to strategic roadmaps and technical dependencies.
• Stay current on industry knowledge related to the domain.
• Monitor solution performance and manage operational risks; assist with incident and problem management.
