Job summary

SMBC Group seeks a highly skilled SQL Server DBA Engineer with 10+ years of hands-on experience to administer, support, and optimize enterprise SQL Server environments. The role is based in the Charlotte, NC office with a hybrid work model and global cloud coverage (Azure/AWS).

You will enable high availability, security, and performance for front/middle/back-office trading systems. You will also develop PowerShell automation and create Power BI dashboards for health, capacity, and operational

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with SQL Server 2019, 2022, 2025 in on-prem & cloud environments.
Strong HA/DR design, Always On availability groups, and disaster recovery planning.
Scripting and automation using PowerShell for administration, monitoring, and reporting.
Experience developing operational reporting with Power BI dashboards and SSRS/SSIS/SSAS is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Provide expert administration for SQL Server environments on Windows VMs, Azure, and AWS.
Design, implement, and support HA/DR solutions using Always On and replication tech.
Manage backups, failover tests, and business continuity processes.
Automate routine tasks and monitoring using PowerShell and related tools.
