Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Herndon, VA seeks an Operations Technology II engineer for the Facility Operations Center. You will remotely monitor power, cooling, and fire-protection systems worldwide, acting as the first responder when alarms fire.

You will analyze alarms, coordinate with onsite teams, and help maintain 24/7 data center availability. Preferred candidates have 4+ years in data center engineering and a bachelor's in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

• 2+ years of relevant work experience in data centers.
• Shifts longer than eight hours are required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze alarm monitoring systems in real time, identify abnormal conditions, and follow escalation processes to protect data center availability.
• Review field technicians' work requests for safety and operational standards compliance and ensure proper authorization.
• Create, document, and track incident tickets while coordinating with onsite data center teams for timely resolution.
• Troubleshoot moderate-to-high-complexity issues across mechanical, electrical, and fire-protection systems using technical documentation and dashboards.
• Provide process-improvement feedback to site leadership and help update maintenance procedures.
