Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Operations Technician to join our front-line team supporting critical data center infrastructure across AWS facilities.

You will monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot incidents, and coordinate with contractors to ensure safety, uptime, and compliance while rotating through 12‑hour shift schedules.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of practical experience in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or fire suppression systems.
• Ability to work in a data center environment with safety protocols.
• Wamiliar with rotating shifts and on-site presence.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor BMS and EPMS to ensure 24/7 reliability.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Install and decommission rack equipment within SLA.
• Perform preventive maintenance, root-cause analysis, and repairs.
• Create technical documentation to support change management.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors; ensure compliance with procedures and local laws.
• Adapt to shift schedules (up to 12 hours) and potential on-call.
