Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Austin, TX seeks a Controls Design Engineer to join the DCGS Controls Design Engineering team. You will own BMS/EPMS standards across AWS data centers and drive standardization to reduce costs.

You will lead technical design, coordinate SOWs, review vendor submittals, and collaborate with internal and external teams. Travel ~25% to manage projects in a high-security, mission-critical environment, delivering scalable controls for the world's largest cloud.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems.
• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities.
• Good understanding of electrical diagrams, control diagrams, building operations, control circuits, and industrial HVAC.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain controls standards for global data centers.
• Coordinate with construction teams, controls programmers, MEP/ACS engineers, Design Engineering, CRE, and project managers.
• Review vendor submittals and ensure compliance with AWS standards.
• Drive cost reductions by minimizing change orders and optimizing vendor pricing.
• Travel to manage and support project initiatives.
