Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Dangerous Goods Lead to own DG policies, controls, and regulatory compliance for air, ocean, and ground transport. You will partner with internal teams, carriers, regulators, and consultants to ensure safety, compliance, and scalable processes across networks.

The role requires 5+ years in compliance/audit/risk management, hands-on DG shipments experience, and current DOT/IATA/IMDG certifications. Onsite work at Bastrop, TX or Redmond/WA or Hawthorne, CA is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in compliance, audit, or risk management.
• 5+ years managing air, ground, and ocean dangerous goods shipments.
• 3+ years DG regulations and import/export compliance.
• Current certifications: DOT, IATA, and IMDG.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve DG policies and controls for air, ocean, and ground transportation.
• Serve as SME on IATA, 49 CFR, IMDG and related DG regulations.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Drive scalable, metric-based improvements to reduce risk and enable growth.
• Build relationships with regulators, industry groups, and partners.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align policy, risk posture, and controls.
• Support new business opportunities with clear regulatory guidance.
