Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel in the United States is seeking a Customs Specialist to optimise customs entry processes and support the brokerage team in ensuring timely clearance for road and rail shipments.

You will handle data entry, document review, and regulatory compliance, leveraging CargoWise and collaboration with clients to prepare import documentation, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in Customs Clearance for Road and Railways transportation.
• Working knowledge of CargoWise.
• Knowledge of domestic and international geography including US cities and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process shipments within department guidelines according to NBSC Customer list/ Controlling branch instructions.
• Timely and accurate input of all data/information necessary to process and facilitate shipments through U.S. Customs and PSG’s.
• Classify goods according to the customers SOP’s and/or instructions.
• Check CargoWise “buckets” daily to ensure all steps in entry/brokerage processes are being followed.
• Document review and assessment for accuracy, verification of critical data elements for entry processing.
• Scanning and archiving of entry document images and communicate if any documentation discrepancies to supervisor and/or controlling branch.
• Request or compile any necessary import documentation from client.
• Accurate completion of all PSG data interfaces (i.e. FDA, EPA, DOT, FCC, Fish & Wildlife etc...) and communicate entry # and entry status to carrier.
