Job summary

Focus is seeking a meticulous Customs Entry Writer in Kansas City, MO to prepare and process U.S. customs entries ensuring CBP and PGA compliance. You will collaborate with import clients, carriers, and government agencies to facilitate accurate clearance and documentation.

The role requires 1+ year of customs brokerage or entry experience, CBP knowledge, and ISF filing experience. Proficiency in MS Office and brokerage software is essential, with a strong focus on accuracy and timely execution.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of Customs Brokerage or Customs Entry experience.
• Working knowledge of CBP regulations and PGA requirements.
• ISF filings experience.
• HTS classification knowledge and import documentation experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and process customs entries for assigned import shipments in compliance with CBP and PGA regulations.
• Manage end-to-end customs clearance for house and direct shipments.
• File Importer Security Filings (ISF) accurately and within required deadlines.
• Review commercial invoices, packing lists, and shipping documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Classify imported products using HTS and maintain customer classification databases.
• Monitor shipment status and communicate updates to customers and internal teams.
