Job summary

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Customs Specialist to safeguard compliance, minimize risk, and ensure smooth customs clearance for customer shipments. You will manage complex exceptions, agency examinations, and high-impact issues, driving accuracy and operational excellence across automated workflows.

On-site three days a week with two remote days, the role emphasizes collaboration, regulatory interpretation, and continuous improvement in customs operations to support timely, compliant deliveries.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 2-3 years of entry-writing experience, international transportation or experience with AI Agents
• Experience with automation-enabled workflows or BPO-integrated operations (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Review and validate customs entry data for accuracy and compliance
• Resolve complex customs exceptions and regulatory concerns
• Manage government agency holds and customs examinations
• Interpret regulations and apply them across daily operations
• Prioritize critical shipment issues to prevent delays
• Partner with brokers, providers, and internal teams for clearance
• Maintain customer-specific SOPs and HTS databases
• Investigate cargo damage, demurrage, and other high-impact issues
• Conduct quality reviews of entries and automated decisions
• Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives
