Job summary

The Carlyle Group is seeking an Application Support Engineer to provide hands-on user support for financial business applications within the Global Credit Segment. You will troubleshoot, monitor performance, and maintain configurations, collaborating with the technology delivery team and business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has at least four years of IT/support experience, strong SQL, and experience with databases, app servers, and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in computing or quantitative discipline required
• Minimum 4 years of IT experience in customer service or helpdesk/application support
• Strong end-user/business-facing white glove support experience
• Experience with application administration (monitoring, configuration, coordinating with infra/development)
• Experience with financial services preferred (credit & private equity)
• Experience with multiple application and staffing vendors
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to identify issues and work with delivery teams to mitigate risks
• Ability to drive vendors to meet goals under constraints
• Understanding of fund and portfolio management practices is highly desirable
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Experience with international user community advantageous

Responsibilities

• Hands-on day-to-day user application support
• Ensuring issues are addressed within SLA timeframes
• Troubleshooting issues and identifying root causes
• Maintaining relationships with business stakeholders
• Communicating with external vendors and fund administrators
• Proactively monitoring system activities for smooth operation
• Identifying recurring production items and driving automations/health checks
• Maintaining configurations for applications, servers and environments
• Enforcing data, security, and operational standards
• Collaborating with GTS engineering on transitions to production
• Documenting issues and resolutions in Confluence
