Job summary

K&L Gates is seeking a Global Controller to lead worldwide accounting operations, provide strategic financial direction, and oversee payroll, treasury, and controls across 40+ offices. The role partners with firm leadership to drive operational excellence and implement accounting policies and systems.

Reporting to the CFO, you will manage a dispersed team, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support strategic initiatives while maintaining compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• CPA or equivalent professional qualification required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting/financial management experience.
• Experience in professional services or law firm setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee accounting functions across 40+ offices globally.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports ensuring GAAP compliance.
• Lead internal controls design and risk management frameworks.
• Coordinate annual external audits and liaison with auditors.
• Drive accounting policies, processes, and system optimization.
• Manage a large accounting team with mentorship and performance reviews.
