Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Risk Manager in San Francisco to lead end-to-end risk management on large construction programs across sectors including data centers, energy and life sciences. You will drive risk planning, cost and schedule integration, and stakeholder communication with program controls teams.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in risk management for construction, strong analytical and negotiation skills, and familiarity with ARM, Predict and Tableau.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of construction risk experience.
• Experience in program management or program controls.
• Deep knowledge of risk identification and facilitation.
• Strong communication, analytical and negotiation skills.
• Understanding of contracts, commercial models and delivery methods.
• Familiarity with ARM, Predict and Tableau.

Responsibilities

• Maintain visibility of risk trigger points to manage risk budget.
• Use risk data to inform investment planning.
• Monitor risk exposure and remaining budget.
• Work with contractors to assess held risks.
• Produce timely risk reports for stakeholders.
• Conduct quantitative risk assessments to inform contingency.
• Lead development of risk management services per client requirements.
• Manage end-to-end risk management on multiple projects.
• Create risk management plans in line with client policies.
• Conduct regular risk reviews and define responses.
• Lead schedule and cost risk assessments (QSRA/QCRA).
• Integrate risk function with program controls and cost/schedule management.
• Collaborate with program controls to improve processes.
• Share knowledge within risk team and with clients.
• Create value-stream maps to reduce waste.
• Collaborate on supplier performance and improvement plans.
• Support expert witnesses in disputes.
• Lead contract and claims management during construction.
• Assess contractual claims per contract terms.
• Provide strategic and contractual advice on disputes.
• Oversee change management and cost control.
• Supervise measurement of completed works and variations.
• Manage settlement of final accounts with contractors.
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role.
