Job summary

Cengage Group is hiring a Staff Accountant in its Global Accounting & Reporting team. You will contribute to consolidated financial reporting, perform close activities, and support audits in a world-wide education tech company.

You will work on balance sheets, income statements, cash flow insights, and ensure accuracy of reporting while collaborating across accounting and finance teams to resolve complex items.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years in accounting, financial reporting or audit.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statements.
• Proficient Excel and strong analytic skills.

Responsibilities

• Support financial close with journals and reconciliations.
• Perform balance sheet analysis and run reports.
• Maintain documentation for reconciliations and close activities.
• Assist with BlackLine tasks and reconciliation workstreams.
• Coordinate with teams to obtain supporting information.
• Assist with audits and research accounting differences.
