Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. has an immediate opening for a Manager, Accounting Consolidation & Compliance at our Cleveland, OH corporate headquarters. This role leads the global consolidation process, governance, and continuous improvement across the accounting function.

You will own intercompany eliminations, asset/lease accounting oversight, and drive standardization of policies and controls while supporting audits and potential acquisitions. Competitive compensation and benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA required.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including consolidation, reporting, and internal controls.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with complex, multi-entity consolidation environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States full-time.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the Company’s global consolidation process, ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial reporting.
• Lead consolidation governance activities, including legal entity structures, account mappings, reporting hierarchies, and consolidation controls.
• Oversee global intercompany accounting and elimination processes, including investigation and resolution of intercompany differences.
• Lead aggregation and reconciliation of company-wide financial information and supporting schedules to ensure accurate reporting and disclosure.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance policies, procedures, and controls supporting the consolidation process.
• Support acquisition integrations, legal entity restructurings, and related consolidation/reporting requirements.
• Monitor new accounting standards and reporting requirements and assess impacts on consolidation and reporting processes.
• Support internal and external audit activities related to consolidated financial reporting.
• Lead initiatives to strengthen accounting processes, governance, and internal controls across the global accounting organization.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, standardization, scalability, and control effectiveness.
• Support system enhancements, automation initiatives, and reporting improvements impacting accounting and financial reporting processes.
• Oversee fixed asset accounting activities, including capitalization policy governance and asset lifecycle management.
