Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs invites a summer Accounting Intern to join our Headquarters in Cleveland, OH. The role provides hands-on experience in corporate accounting, including preparing benefit plan statements, drafting the 10‑Q, and supporting various accounting projects.

You will work with the corporate financial reporting team, gaining exposure to GAAP, and assisting with audits, journal entries, and reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a bachelor’s program in Accounting or Finance.
• Must have completed at least freshman year of study by the summer of 2027.
• Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.

Responsibilities

• Assist in drafting financial statements and related disclosures, including footnotes, for inclusion in the Company's SEC Form 10‑Q filing.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules for multiple 401K and pension plans.
• Collaborate on the assessment of new GAAP and SEC guidelines.
• Assist with audit requests from internal and external auditors.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Participate in other ad hoc projects, as requested.
