Search Solution Group is seeking a Global Compensation Consultant on behalf of our client, a global paper company. This role plays a critical part in administering and supporting global compensation programs that impact leaders and employees across the enterprise. The position ensures compensation processes are accurate, competitive, compliant, and aligned with the organization’s philosophy and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer the global short-term incentive plan including annual training, eligibility management, performance calculations, modeling, approvals, and payout execution.
- Manage equity-based long-term incentive programs including grant administration, vesting, forfeitures, and terminations.
- Serve as the primary liaison with the outsourced equity plan administrator; oversee operations, data integrity, participant support, and reconciliation.
- Support preparation of Compensation Committee materials including plan results, equity analyses, benchmarking, and pay-for-performance assessments.
- Participate in job architecture and grading activities to support internal equity and alignment with the global framework.
- Assist with development and maintenance of global and regional salary structures based on market data and compensation philosophy.
- Support the annual merit process including guidelines, modeling, budget management, system functionality, and reporting.
- Contribute to compensation survey submissions, ensuring accurate job matching, data validation, and analysis of results.
- Prepare compensation analyses, market comparisons, pay equity indicators, and ad hoc reporting.
- Support annual proxy statement preparation including drafting executive compensation disclosures and coordinating cross-functional inputs.
- Partner with Legal and Finance to ensure compliance with equity plans, insider trading considerations, and internal controls.
- Conduct compensation modeling, trend analysis, benchmarking, and reporting for senior leadership and the Board.
- Maintain detailed documentation for audits, compliance, and governance requirements.
- Monitor emerging compensation trends and regulatory changes to support continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities for standardization, efficiency, and enhanced use of compensation systems and tools.
Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Prior experience in compensation, HR analytics, or executive compensation required.
- Experience supporting incentive plans and equity programs strongly preferred.
- Background working with large, global organizations is beneficial.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with HRIS, compensation systems, and Excel-based modeling.
- Strong communication skills for working with HR, Finance, Legal, and senior leaders.
- Certifications:
- CCP or related HR/compensation certification preferred but not required.
- Knowledge:
- Understanding of compensation methodology, market analysis, and job architecture.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to executive compensation, equity programs, and proxy disclosures.
