Job summary

Ontic seeks a Global Commodity Specialist to drive strategic sourcing across core commodities, partnering with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and site teams. You will lead end-to-end RFx, analyze costs, and deploy global supplier strategies to improve cost competitiveness and supply continuity.

The role requires travel ~30% and familiarity with ITAR/EAR. A strong background in cost analysis and ERP systems is essential, with remote-friendly work options across approved states.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical capabilities with cost analysis, cost modeling, PPV, VA/VE, or should-cost analysis.
• Understanding of contract management principles and supplier agreements.
• Knowledge of global supply markets, commodity dynamics, and supply chain risk.
• Experience monitoring supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, and service metrics.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or comparable platforms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Power BI for data analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of ITAR/EAR regulatory requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects and priorities; travel ~30%.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute strategic sourcing projects under the Global Commodity Senior Manager.
• Manage end-to-end RFx processes: supplier identification, market analysis, bid solicitation, evaluation, negotiation, and award recommendations.
• Support global sourcing initiatives including supplier consolidation and license support.
• Identify and deliver cost-reduction opportunities via PPV, VA/VE, should-cost analysis, and competitive sourcing.
• Support development and management of global supplier agreements and contract lifecycle activities.
• Align with commercial terms, legal requirements, and supply chain risk objectives.
• Provide market intelligence and commodity insights to stakeholders.
• Develop and refine global commodity strategies; monitor supplier performance and engage in improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and cross-functional teams to execute sourcing initiatives.
• Serve as interface between Global Sourcing and site stakeholders for effective communication and execution.
