Job summary

Ontic is seeking a Global Commodity Specialist to drive strategic sourcing across core commodity categories from a remote work structure within approved US states. You will partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to implement global strategies and improve cost competitiveness.

The role requires 3–7 years in procurement, strong negotiation, and expertise in RFx processes, cost analysis, and ERP systems; travel up to 30% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• 3–7 years in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain in manufacturing.
• Experience managing RFx processes (RFIs, RFQs, RFPs).
• Strong supplier negotiation and relationship skills.
• Experience with cost analysis, PPV, VA/VE or should-cost analysis.
• Knowledge of global supply markets and risk.
• Ability to read technical drawings and manufacturing requirements.
• ERP familiarity (SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel; Power BI experience is a plus.
• ITAR/EAR knowledge is preferred; ability to travel ~30%.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute strategic sourcing projects under the Global Commodity Senior Manager.
• Manage end-to-end RFx processes from supplier identification to award recommendations.
• Support global sourcing initiatives, supplier consolidation, and new business opportunities.
• Develop and refine global commodity strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities via PPV, VA/VE, and negotiations.
• Manage supplier agreements, pricing updates, and contract lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute sourcing initiatives.
