Job summary

Google in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Commodity Manager to optimize total cost of ownership for our global infrastructure. You will work with Engineering on supplier roadmaps for VPD/IBC modules, manage multiple suppliers, and guide cross-functional teams through supplier selection for new platforms.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a technical field and 7 years in procurement; preferred are advanced degrees and deep knowledge of power modules. US salary range advertised with bonus and equity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
• Experience in commodity management, global procurement, or sourcing for board-mounted power modules (e.g., POL converters, VRMs, IBCs, or PMICs), including contract negotiation and supplier development.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing strategy and collaborate with engineering on early engagement, aligning supplier roadmaps for VPD and IBC modules.
• Manage multiple suppliers and programs, negotiating complex agreements to achieve favorable pricing, terms, and scalable supply assurance.
• Direct cross-functional teams through supplier selection for new platforms, balancing innovation, speed-to-market, cost, quality, and delivery.
• Oversee critical supply chain operations, including production schedules, capacity planning, and operational flexibility while reporting status and risks to executive leadership.
• Monitor supplier performance and mitigate continuity risks via regular business reviews, leveraging deep market intelligence to optimize procurement strategies.
