Job summary

Google is seeking a Commodity Manager to work with Engineering teams to ensure we have the supplies and equipment to productionize innovative products. You will leverage extensive supplier relationships to optimize total cost of ownership for our global infrastructure.

Our AI and Infrastructure teams empower Google customers with scalable computing power, reliability and velocity. You will influence sourcing strategies and negotiate agreements across hardware and power-related commodities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical/engineering field.
• 7 years of procurement and supply chain management experience.
• Experience in commodity management/sourcing for data center rack power conversion or power back-up solutions, incl. negotiations, assurance of supply, capacity planning, supplier development.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects and suppliers, negotiating statements of work to master supply agreements for favorable pricing and supply assurance at scale.
• Lead cross-functional supplier selection for new platforms and partner with stakeholders to balance innovation, time-to-market, cost, quality and delivery.
• Oversee schedules, capacity, and supply chain flexibility, and communicate risks to management for continuous improvement.
• Mitigate supply chain risks and measure partner performance via regular business reviews.
• Maintain industry expertise to inform sourcing strategies and negotiations.
