Job summary

Google is seeking a Commodity Manager to partner with Engineering to secure supplies for AI and infrastructure initiatives. You will optimize total cost of ownership across global hardware and lead supplier relationships to support scalable, reliable production.

You will drive sourcing strategy, manage multiple suppliers, negotiate favorable terms, and coordinate cross-functional programs balancing speed, cost, quality, and delivery, with an emphasis on risk management and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
• Experience in commodity management, global procurement, or sourcing for board-mounted power modules, including contract negotiation and supplier development.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing strategy and collaborate with engineering on early engagement, aligning supplier roadmaps for VPD and IBC modules.
• Manage multiple suppliers and programs, negotiating complex agreements to achieve favorable pricing, terms, and scalable supply assurance.
• Direct cross-functional teams through supplier selection for new platforms, balancing innovation, speed-to-market, cost, quality, and delivery.
• Oversee critical supply chain operations, including production schedules, capacity planning, and operational flexibility while reporting status and risks to executive leadership.
• Monitor supplier performance and mitigate continuity risks via regular business reviews, leveraging deep market intelligence to optimize procurement strategies.
