Job summary

Google is seeking a Commodity Manager to partner with Engineering to secure materials and equipment for advanced infrastructure. You will use your industry knowledge and supplier networks to optimize total cost of ownership across a global supply chain.

The role focuses on strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and risk management to support integrating board-mounted power modules and related components at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
• Experience in commodity management, global procurement, or sourcing for board-mounted power modules, including contract negotiation and supplier development.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing strategy and collaborate with engineering on early engagement, aligning supplier roadmaps for VPD and IBC modules.
• Manage multiple suppliers and programs, negotiating complex agreements to achieve favorable pricing, terms, and scalable supply assurance.
• Direct cross-functional teams through supplier selection for new platforms, balancing innovation, speed-to-market, cost, quality, and delivery.
• Oversee critical supply chain operations, including production schedules, capacity planning, and operational flexibility while reporting status and risks to executive leadership.
• Monitor supplier performance and mitigate continuity risks via regular business reviews, leveraging deep market intelligence to optimize procurement strategies.
