Job summary

Watts Water Technologies is seeking a Global Commodity Manager to lead long‑term category strategies in data center infrastructure. You will partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality and Product Management to drive design‑to‑cost initiatives and strategic supplier alliances from a remote location near North Andover, MA.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years in strategic sourcing, a strong track record in supplier negotiations, and experience with global sourcing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in SCM, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of strategic sourcing or procurement experience.
  • Proven ability to work across Operations, Engineering, QA, Finance, and Product Management.
  • Experience delivering productivity improvements via sourcing, negotiations, value engineering and cost optimization.

Scope of Position

The Global Commodity Manager, as part of the Mega Projects Sourcing team, will be responsible for the development and execution of long‑term global category strategies in data center and adjacent infrastructure markets in support of business growth and innovation, supplier development, capacity expansion, and cost competitiveness. This position will report to the Director of Sourcing, Mega Projects and Light Industrial. This role is remote, but candidate will be ideally near North Andover, Massachusetts.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for valves, valve systems, and components supporting the data center and adjacent markets that support supplier risk management, productivity, capacity scaling, strategic and technological partnerships, and positive supplier relationships.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Product Management teams to support design‑to‑cost initiatives, early supplier engagement, new product development and design innovation, supplier qualification, and sourcing strategy execution.
  • Drive supplier performance and continuous improvement through strategic supplier relationship management, commercial negotiations, performance metrics, and long‑term partnership development.
  • Deliver annual productivity targets through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, value engineering, and supply base optimization.
  • Leverage spend analytics, market intelligence, supplier benchmarking, cost modeling, and digital procurement tools, including AI‑enabled technologies, to improve sourcing effectiveness and decision quality.
  • Responsibility directly tied to Watts Value (Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, Transparency).
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business requires.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of strategic sourcing, commodity management, procurement, or supply chain experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Product Management functions.
  • Proven success delivering productivity improvements through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, value engineering, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Experience developing and implementing category strategies and supplier relationship management programs.
  • Strong supplier negotiation, contract management, and commercial leadership skills.
  • Experience supporting global sourcing and low‑cost‑country sourcing initiatives.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, spend analysis tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, including [insert checks], and required pre‑employment testing as a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Experience sourcing mechanical infrastructure components within data centers, mission‑critical facilities, industrial infrastructure, HVAC, cooling systems, water distribution systems, or building automation markets.
  • Demonstrated experience managing valve, piping, fluid handling, HVAC, cooling, or mechanical system categories.
  • Experience supporting sourcing transformation, supplier consolidation, or organizational change initiatives.
  • Experience managing suppliers across North America, Europe, and Asia.
  • Collaborate globally across sourcing teams to leverage supplier capabilities, drive standardization, and accelerate supply base development for emerging business opportunities.
  • CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), C.P.M. (Certified Purchasing Manager), or other.

Working Conditions

While performing the job duties, you will be working remotely in an office environment. You may be required to occasionally travel to and work in the office at the North Andover location for meetings, trainings, or as otherwise required by Company management.

Pay Range

The expected salary range for this position is $123,000 - $148,000 yearly. Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable law.
