Job summary

Group 1 Automotive, Inc. is seeking a transformational Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to lead the global accounting organization. This executive will establish the strategic vision for accounting, drive SOX compliance, and ensure accurate U.S.

GAAP reporting across multinational operations, including the U.K. and foreign subsidiaries. Based in Houston, the CAO will partner with the CFO and Board, oversee external reporting, and guide accounting transformation initiatives, including Oracle

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
• Active CPA license.
• 20+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
• Experience leading SEC reporting and external financial reporting.
• SOX compliance and global controllership expertise.
• Experience with multinational operations including the U.K.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the global accounting and controllership organization.
• Partner with the CFO and Board on financial strategy, governance, and risk.
• Oversee external reporting including SEC filings and disclosures.
• Lead accounting transformation, automation, and technology initiatives.
• Drive SOX compliance and internal controls across the group.
• Support acquisitions and integration accounting for growth.
