Job summary

PROPWR in Midland, TX is seeking a Chief Accounting Officer to lead all accounting, financial reporting, and controllership functions. Reporting to the CFO, the CAO will oversee SEC reporting, GAAP compliance, and the global close process.

This executive role requires 15+ years in accounting, CPA, and deep knowledge of ASC 606/842, internal controls, and ERP transformations. Onsite from Midland or North Houston, with travel to HQ.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience with significant leadership responsibility.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations, SOX, and internal controls.
• Proven experience leading financial reporting, external audits, and technical accounting initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting, financial reporting, and controllership functions.
• Oversee the preparation and filing of Form 10-K, 10-Q, and other SEC filings.
• Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and consolidation processes.
• Lead technical accounting evaluations and establish policies for significant transactions and emerging standards.
• Oversee income tax accounting and reporting in coordination with outside advisors.
• Maintain internal control environment and oversee SOX compliance.
• Partner with CFO and Audit Committee on governance, risk, and strategic initiatives.
