Job summary

International Justice Mission (IJM) is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead global financial strategy, reporting, and risk management from the Washington, DC area. The CFO will partner with the COO and Global Leadership Team to align financial resources with IJM’s mission and growth.

This hybrid role requires experience in nonprofit accounting, grants management, and building high‑performing finance teams across regions.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in business management or equivalent with extensive financial leadership experience.
• Ten+ years of strategic financial leadership in complex organizations with multi‑entity operations.
• Experience managing grants, donor reporting, and budgets across divisions.

Responsibilities

• Advise the COO on fiscal health, strategic financial structure, budget performance, cash flow, investments and controls.
• Build and lead a world‑class global finance team, fostering professional excellence and collaboration across regions.
• Oversee internal controls, external audit engagement, and compliance with donor restrictions and reporting requirements.
• Lead the preparation for Finance, Administration and Audit Committee meetings and provide timely updates to the committee and Board.
• Develop and communicate treasury strategies, cash forecasting, and investment oversight to maximize impact.

Education

Graduate degree in business management or equivalent

Ten+ years of strategic financial leadership

Experience managing a business unit of $50M+ revenue

Grant reporting experience (preferred)
