Job summary
Leggett Dynamics, a global leader in seating support and comfort systems, is seeking a Global Category Manager to lead category strategy across regions. You will direct the commodity team, develop supplier partnerships, and drive value optimization while managing risk and performance across automotive supply chains.
The role requires a decade of global category experience, strong leadership, and a track record in cost modeling and negotiations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years in a Category/Commodity management position, or related experience, with global responsibilities.
- Proven leadership skills and capability to lead a global team.
- Strong business and financial acumen with cost modeling experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the category team while driving global category strategies to improve cost, quality, and business performance.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and secure cross-functional support for commodity strategies.
- Lead sourcing and contract negotiations, manage supplier performance, and mitigate supply and business risks.
- Develop long term supplier relationships and promote supplier involvement in innovation projects.
- Monitor global commodity markets, provide pricing forecasts and recommendations, and support sales with commodity cost updates.
- Identify cost and value optimization opportunities and implement actions to improve category performance.
- Define and execute Commodity Value Optimization strategies in collaboration with procurement, sales, and logistics teams.
- Drive productivity initiatives globally, assess feasibility, ensure implementation of ideas, and support regional execution of category strategies.
- Manage category financial performance and develop talent, succession, and capability-building plans for the category organization.
