Job summary

Guardian Glass in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Global Category Manager to shape sourcing and supplier strategies for capital investments and long-term value.

You will collaborate across Engineering, Operations, Finance, Legal, and project teams to align priorities, resolve gaps between specs, proposals and contracts, and develop total-cost-of-ownership models for investment decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management.
• Experience leading supplier negotiations and contracts.
• Knowledge of total cost of ownership and lifecycle economics.
• Ability to influence across technical, operational, financial, and legal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine long-term category and supplier strategies.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to align specs, proposals, and contracts before award.
• Lead commercial and contracting strategies for categories including capital equipment.
• Develop supplier qualification and relationship-management approaches.
• Identify and mitigate supply, commercial, and compliance risks.
• Build total-cost-of-ownership models to support decisions.
• Lead negotiations and enable regional teams to execute strategies.
