Job summary
United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our Global Backbone Engineering team. You will design and operate a high-capacity backbone that interconnects data centers, offices, and cloud environments across continents, enabling AI workloads and large-scale data processing.
You will lead architecture, manage the full stack from optical to IP/MPLS, and automate provisioning and monitoring.
Qualifications
- Expert knowledge in large-scale backbone networking technologies and protocols.
- Hands-on experience with DWDM and long-haul optical transport.
- Deep experience with peering and Internet exchange:** IXP connectivity and BGP policy at scale.
- Ability to write Python/Shell scripts for automation and dashboards.
- Experience with carrier-grade routing platforms (Juniper/Cisco).
- Architected and operated WANs spanning continents for millions of flows.
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and design of the global backbone network including inter-DC connectivity and peering strategy.
- Implement, manage, and troubleshoot the backbone stack from optical through IP/MPLS.
- Automate backbone provisioning, capacity management, monitoring, and failure detection.
