Job summary

Point of Rental Software is seeking a senior software engineering leader to own the Global API and the unified platform used across multiple RMS products. You will mentor a small team while still shipping code, and you will drive the adoption of AI-powered tooling to build reusable workflows and sub-agents.

You will document architecture decisions with ERDs and API flow diagrams to keep cross-team dependencies visible.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Ownership of a shared API/integration layer or platform used by multiple products or teams.
• Hands-on coding in backend and frontend tech stack.

Responsibilities

• Own the Global API and unified platform for multiple RMS products.
• Lead and mentor a small engineering team while shipping code.
• Promote use of agentic AI development tools and build reusable workflows.
• Create and maintain ERDs, swim-lane diagrams, and API flow docs.
• Collaborate with product leadership to align API roadmap with product needs.
• Provide realistic estimates and manage delivery commitments.
• Participate in hiring and career development for the team.
