Job summary
Frontmatec is seeking an experienced Help Desk Technician to support internal and external customers of Frontmatec equipment. The role covers responsive SOS support, site safety, and collaboration with installation and QA teams.
Responsibilities include assisting startups, upgrades, PLC/electrical programming, and contributing to continuous improvement within the automation department.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with Autocad Electrical.
- Experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
- Knowledge of RS Logic 5000 and FactoryTalk View.
- Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills.
- Customer service orientation and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Handle SOS calls and work toward problem resolution.
- Participate in 24/7 customer support.
- Ensure health and safety standards on site and in factory (OSHA/ OHSA).
- Support installation/startups and upgrades of equipment.
- Develop and install upgrades for electrical programs/plans.
- Program components from spare parts (computers, interfaces).
- Support QA at programming/electrical level.
- Collaborate across departments to provide field insights.
- Assist in FAT testing and startup of factory equipment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in the automation department.
