Job summary

PeopleShare by PROMAN seeks a Commercial Glass & Glazing Estimator in Gaithersburg, MD. This full-time role reviews plans, performs takeoffs, obtains pricing, and prepares competitive proposals for commercial glass projects.

Qualifications

• Commercial construction estimating experience preferred.
• Glazing/Glass estimating experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents for commercial construction projects.
• Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs for storefront systems, curtain walls, entrances, interior glass systems, mirrors, aluminum framing, glazing hardware, and related products.
• Obtain pricing and lead-time information from vendors and manufacturers.
• Prepare accurate estimates including labor, materials, equipment, freight, and subcontractor costs.
• Develop professional proposals with clearly defined scopes, inclusions, exclusions, and qualifications.
• Review project requirements such as prevailing wage, bonding, scheduling, and other conditions that may impact pricing.
• Track submitted bids and follow up on proposals.
• Review addenda and make necessary revisions prior to bid deadlines.
• Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Maintain accurate bid records and estimating documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams throughout the bidding process.

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Commercial Glass & Glazing Estimator to join their growing team. Qualifications

• Glass and glazing estimating experience strongly preferred.


• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.


• Knowledge of storefront systems, curtain walls, entrances, glass, aluminum framing, and related hardware preferred.


• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.


• Experience with estimating software, takeoff software, or Procore is a plus.


• Experience with government, prevailing wage, or Davis-Bacon projects is a plus.

Compensation

• Entry-Level Estimator (training provided): Approximately $50,000.


• Estimator with 3-5 years of experience: Approximately $65,000+.


• Experienced Independent Estimator: $75,000-$80,000+.
