Job summary

Centurion Selection seeks an experienced Senior Estimator for a well-established building envelope and glazing contractor serving Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C. This role focuses on accurate take-offs, cost estimates, and bid documentation while mentoring junior estimators.

You will price projects up to $5M, develop comprehensive bid packages, and support project managers with handoff materials. Travel across MD, VA, and D.C. is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in a construction-related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of glazing/building envelope estimating experience.
• Strong understanding of construction terminology and glazing/building envelope subcontractor duties.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and train team members.
• High functional ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Experience with solicitation, negotiation, award, and subcontract management.
• Understanding of scheduling logic and constraints.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel across MD, VA, and D.C.

• Prepare project cost estimates, proposals, and substitution requests for value-engineering.

• Collaborate with your supervisor on quotes and ensure correct distribution to clients.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and association/networking events as scheduled.
• Support Project Managers with job handoff documentation and scope reviews.
• Maintain strong working relationships with vendors, suppliers, clients, and potential clients.
• Track awarded vs. estimated costs to improve future estimating accuracy.
• Ensure company Safety and Quality Control standards are upheld at all times.

• 5+ years of glazing/building envelope estimating experience (mid‑level candidates with strong capability will also be considered).
• Strong understanding of construction terminology and glazing/building envelope subcontractor duties.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and train team members.
• High functional ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Proven success managing multiple estimates across various stages.
• Experience with solicitation, negotiation, award, and subcontract management.
• Understanding of scheduling logic and constraints.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel across MD, VA, and D.C.
