Job summary

Ardagh Group is seeking a Production Manager to direct forming, mold repair, and machine repair departments to optimize safety, quality, and performance while controlling costs. You will staff the forming department, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the operations.

The role requires extensive experience in glass manufacturing, strong leadership, and a focus on meeting customer specifications, with opportunities for development through training and succession

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline
• Twelve (12) years of experience in glass manufacturing with an emphasis on the forming process and management experience
• Prior experience with mold repair, machine repair, and job changes
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient organizational, analytical, and planning skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work in a heavy industrial, high-risk work environment
• Ability to work outside of regular work hours
• Ability to prioritize work and have a sense of urgency
• Ability to travel up to 5%

Responsibilities

• Ensure the manufacturing of glass containers are within customer specifications and quality standards
• Select and develop employees to staff the forming department including salary administration, effective employee and union relations, developmental and training opportunities, and succession planning
• Manage departmental budgets including time, labor, and spending costs
• Establish and maintain a safe and healthy work environment always striving for zero accidents
• Monitor department performances and report on negative impacted areas while developing and implementing continuous improvement
• Comply with environmental and food safety standards as outlined in plant policies within the department
