Job summary

Ardagh Group is seeking a Production Manager to direct forming, mold repair, and machine repair to achieve safety, quality and efficiency at the lowest cost. You will ensure glass containers meet customer specs and lead staffing for the forming department.

Responsibilities include budgeting, maintaining a safe work environment, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with environmental and food safety standards. Strong leadership and technical expertise are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Twelve (12) years of experience in glass manufacturing with emphasis on the forming process and management experience.
• Prior experience with mold repair, machine repair, and job changes.
• Proficient organizational, analytical, and planning skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work in a heavy industrial, high-risk work environment.
• Ability to work outside of regular work hours.
• Ability to travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the manufacturing of glass containers are within customer specifications and quality standards
• Select and develop employees to adequately staff the forming department which includes salary administration, effective employee and union relations, developmental and training opportunities, and succession planning
• Manage departmental budgets including time, labor, and spending costs
• Establish and maintain a safe and healthy work environment always striving for zero accidents
• Monitor department performances and report on negative impacted areas while developing and implementing continuous improvement
• Comply with environmental and food safety standards as outlined in plant policies within the department
