Job summary

Ardagh Glass Ltd. seeks a Forming Supervisor to oversee an hourly unionized shift in the forming department, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are met.

The role requires strong leadership and hands-on expertise in the forming process, with emphasis on maintenance, repair, and procedural compliance. The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent and significant experience in glass manufacturing, including the forming process.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Five (5) years of experience in glass manufacturing with an emphasis on the forming process.
• Prior experience with mold repair, machine repair, and job changes.
• Proficient organizational, analytical, and planning skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work in a heavy industrial, high-risk work environment.
• Ability to work outside of regular work hours.
• Ability to travel up to 5%.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Eight (8) years of experience in glass manufacturing with an emphasis on the forming process.
• One (1) year of supervisory experience.
• Prior experience in a unionized work environment.
• Prior experience with the plant's forming process (press, blow-and-blow).

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a proactive safety environment including housekeeping and injury risk awareness.
• Maintain effective working relationships within the department and with other departments.
• Maintain timely records such as attendance, production, quality, training, and discipline.
• Monitor production efficiencies and quality during the shift and provide corrective actions with employees.
• Comply with environmental and food safety standards per plant policies.
