Human Coalition, Inc. is seeking a foundational General Ledger Accountant to execute daily debits, credits, and multi-dimensional coding with precision in Sage Intacct.

The role emphasizes accurate journal entries, bank reconciliations, and grant-related allocations within a nonprofit context. The ideal candidate will have 4–5 years of hands-on accounting experience, a solid understanding of double-entry accounting, and the ability to support audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting OR equivalent solid professional experience.
• Independently prepare journal entries and balance sheets; on-site assessment.
• 4-5 years of hands-on accounting experience with a mid-size 501(c)(3).
• Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct OR similar cloud-based ERP software.
• Absolute clarity on double-entry accounting. Pass a basic proficiency test on journal entries, debits/credits.

Responsibilities

• Apply multi-dimensional coding (departments, locations, programs, projects, and grants) to every transaction in Sage Intacct.
• Prepare, double-check, and post standard journal entries.
• Audit, verify, and certify employee credit card coding via Certify with proper documentation.
• Perform remote deposit capture for donor checks and match them to the ledger.
• Download bank transactions and perform full bank account reconciliations with Sage Intacct Cash Management.
• Maintain standard monthly schedules for Prepaid Expenses Amortization and Fixed Assets Depreciation.
• Learn and execute monthly shared-cost grant allocations across active state grants.
• Maintain organized digital folders of supporting documentation for annual external audits.
