Job summary
Baxter & Woodman’s Orlando/West Palm Beach, FL office is recruiting a GIS Technician II to support municipal clients with GIS data, mapping, and analysis.
You will work under the GIS Department Manager, performing office-based tasks and fieldwork, developing maps and dashboards, and assisting with ArcGIS Online deployment and Python scripts. Travel within east‑coast Florida is expected.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, CS, Remote Sensing or related field.
- 3+ years of municipal government, utilities, or public works experience.
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
- Knowledge of map design and end-user layouts.
- Willingness to travel within east-coast Florida region.
Responsibilities
- Report to the GIS Department Manager for tasks and scheduling.
- Perform office-based mapping, data manipulation, analysis and problem solving.
- Create and manage ArcGIS Online Organization accounts and content.
- Provide onsite work for municipal clients and field-based projects.
- Develop and maintain maps, dashboards, and web/mobile apps.
- Support proposals, client presentations and GIS demonstrations.
- Contribute to ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, Python, Arcade projects.
- Attend local GIS/engineering conferences to stay updated.
- Perform GPS data collection and field inspections.
