Job summary
Baxter & Woodman Inc is seeking a GIS Technician I to join our team in Bannockburn, Chicago, Crystal Lake, or Naperville, IL. The role combines office GIS tasks with fieldwork, supporting municipal clients with ArcGIS Pro/ArcGIS Online in a dynamic, expanding Spatial Technology Group.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field and strong problem‑solving and communication skills, plus a willingness to travel throughout the Chicagoland area and lift up to 50 lbs as
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field is required.
- Strong ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online experience is required.
- Willingness to travel within Chicagoland area and work on-site with clients.
Responsibilities
- Report to the GIS Department Manager for tasks and scheduling.
- Perform office-based mapping, data manipulation, and analysis in ArcGIS Pro.
- Manage ArcGIS Online data layers and municipal client projects.
- Develop ArcGIS Online applications such as Experience Builder and Dashboards.
- Provide field-based services including GPS data collection and site visits.
